TJ - SD Border 2006
My hometown, Playas de Tijuana is where I spent half of my life, and will always consider home. I took the next set of photos in 2005, the last time I visited the wall on the beach.
In some way it´s like a museum, but most of all a statement. In TJ we are very much northern in the way we say what we feel, not like chilangos that stab you in the back
On the way down to the beach you can see the metal bars in the sand. They go all the way to the water. When I was young this didn´t exist, it was just a chicken wire fence and it didn´t go that far down the water, police where there, but you could cross for a little and come back
It´s chilling actually when you go down there, all the poles are written on in chalk with the names, place of birth and dates of people that didn´t make it.
This is what was on the wall in 2005, the last time I visited. Let´s see what is there for the end of 2007.
